About Tourism Whitsundays

Tourism Whitsundays (TW) is the Regional Tourism Organisation for the Whitsunday region, incorporating an area that consists of 74 Islands located in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef and the Queensland mainland from Bowen in the north, to Laguna Quays in the south, inland to Proserpine and to the coast including Airlie Beach.

We are the region's peak tourism industry body, facilitating partnerships, promoting sustainable tourism development and marketing this wonderful 'Great Barrier Reef' destination across Australia and around the world.

Tourism Whitsundays' Mission
For the Whitsundays to be recognised as one of the top ten tropical coast, reef, island and marine leisure destinations in the world.

Central to this mission is the 74 Islands in the Heart of the Great Barrier Reef brand that positions the destination as an aspirational tourism destination of the highest quality.

 

The Board
Tourism Whitsundays is governed by a Board of Directors who are democratically elected by the Members of Tourism Whitsundays at the Annual General Meeting each year. Board Members serve a term of two years and can be re-elected for two further terms.


Visitor Information Centre

Whitsunday Visitor Information Centre (WIC) is TW's information and booking service, and is also the official, accredited Visited Information Centre for the Whitsunday Region. Conveniently located on the Bruce Highway, Proserpine, the WIC offers unbiased information on the region, its attractions and products, as well as a full booking service available to visitors and locals alike.
