Activities

Walking

Walking tracks are a great way to discover some of the area’s scenic values and qualities that led to their protection.

Enjoy short walks in nearby Conway National Park. Start further along Shute Harbour Road at the Conway picnic area, Swamp bay and Mt Rooper, and Coral Beach tracks.

Walking tracks and beaches allow you to explore the fringes of the rugged densely vegetated national park islands. If you do not have access to a boat, day tours with a variety of tour operators or ferry transfers to island resorts can assist.

Camping

You can choose from a range of camping opportunities, depending on your needs.

Relax after a walk into bush campgrounds along the Whitsunday Great Walk or Swamp Bay, or stay under the stars in one of the many national park island camp sites. Camping areas with vehicle access are available at forests and parks further along the Bruce Highway.

Taking a tour?

Joining a tour is a great way to learn more about an area’s natural and cultural heritage. Tours range from energetic adventures to peaceful outings and can make planning your trip much easier.

If choosing a tour operator, lookout for the ECO CERTIFIED logo. This ensures you that a tour, attraction or accommodation provider is committed to protecting the environment while providing a memorable experience.
