Park Information
This peaceful coastal park straddles Airlie Beach. Overlooking the Whitsunday Passage its rainforest-clad mountains, forested hills and deep valleys protect the largest area of tropical rainforest outside of tropical North Queensland.
Home to rare and threatened species including the endangered Proserpine rock-wallaby, creatures feature, in almost every visit to the park.
Visitors can walk into bush camps beside a secluded, pebbly beach overlooking Daydream Island or take in spectacular views over Hamilton, Dent, Long and Henning islands from the Mount Rooper lookout.

Along the rugged Conway Range discover the forest’s secrets on short or extended walks. Three walks begin from the Brandy Creek carpark, ranging from the Kingfisher circuit which allows you to explore the diverse, ever-changing rainforest of the Conway Range in just an hour, to the three-day Whitsunday Great!Walk.
Look for old snigging tracks used for carting timber in logging days. Delight in brilliant blue Ulysses butterflies and buff-breasted paradise-kingfisher which migrate from Papua New Guinea to breed here each summer. Tracks may be closed in wet weather; check conditions before setting out.

A group of 14 peaceful tropical islands south-east of Airlie Beach, make up the Lindeman Islands National Park.
Well-maintained tracks traverse Lindeman and Seaforth Islands and allow you to explore rainforest in sheltered pockets, open forest in drier areas, grassland and wetlands. Sunsets over Neck bay and views from Lindeman’s Mount Oldfield can be spectacular and birdwatchers will delight in more than 90 species in the area.

In the heart of the Whitsundays, this park features six islands just 10km east of Airlie Beach. From mangroves to white sandy beaches, grasslands to pockets of rainforest, all are encircled by pale blue waters of the Great Barrier Reef Coast Marine Park. South Molle is the largest in this picturesque island group which provide a wildlife refuge and are popular with nature lovers too.
The park provides many bushwalking opportunities with stunning views along South Molle and Long island tracks.

Whitehaven Beach, on Whitsunday Island, is world renowned for is pure white silica sand and crystal-clear water. Part of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area, the islands fringing reefs contain an outstanding variety of corals and rest just metres from their shore.

Most northern and more remote than other parks in the Whitsundays, these scenic continental islands offer a quiet retreat. Gloucester Island, the largest of the group, is home to a colony of endangered Proserpine rock-wallabies.
The islands and surrounding waters are protected by the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area and offer opportunities to camp, picnic or simply enjoy secluded beaches.
